S.T.A.R. is a non profit making organisation, set up by a parent who's son was released from a premiership academy, to help offer emotional support to players and families currently attending football academy's and also after care if they get released.

Our aim is to raise the £5,000 needed, so we can apply to become a registered charity, where any profits will go back into sport and buying sporting equipment for schools.

We have a self funding game called "Club 686" please look at links section at bottom of the page to take part and our donations page as we currently have no funding, any donations will be gratfully recieved.

With the introduction of the Football Association's new academy system in 1998 this placed much more emphasis on developing home grown young players. The academy system has improved the amount of young talents being nurtured by clubs but its also a very competitive environment and over 99% of players never make it to the clubs first team.

Being released as a young player can have a lasting negative emotional effect on the player with confidence hitting an all time low in some cases players giving up football altogether, as well as their home and school life being affected.

Our aim at S.T.A.R. is to provide help, guidance and emotional support to these young players that have been released by football clubs.

We will provide advice, counselling if needed and even try and help the player obtain another trial with a football club if that is their wish.

We are also here to offer advice to help parents who have kids currently at academy's or that have been scouted by academy's for a trial and would like some advise or just someone to chat too.

We also offer support to any footballers that have been released by clubs in the past and are still affected emotionally.
